About PCI Compliance
Your payment processing account doesn't comply with industry security standards for handling credit card payments.
Your payment processing partner will continue to assess a $75/mo. fee until you resolve the issue and you're in compliance.
Please note that your payment processor sets this fee—not Henry Schein One.
The good news: becoming compliant is straightforward, and you can probably complete the PCI survey yourself in a half hour or less.
What is PCI compliance?
Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is a set of security requirements created by major credit card brands (Visa, Mastercard, etc.) to protect cardholder data.
Any business that accepts credit or debit card payments is required to:
- Follow basic security best practices
- Complete a short, annual self-assessment survey to confirm compliance
This process helps protect your patients' payment information and reduces the risk of fraud and data breaches.
How long does the PCI survey take?
Most dental offices complete the PCI survey in 15–30 minutes.
To make it even faster, we recommend gathering the information below before you start so you can finish it in one session.
What happens if I don't complete the PCI survey?
If your account remains out of compliance:
- Your payment processing partner charges a $75/mo. non-compliance fee
- That fee continues until the survey is completed
- Henry Schein One cannot waive or control this fee
Completing the survey restores your compliant status and prevents ongoing charges.
