Challenge

During their journey to become fully digital, Kennedy Dental Care (KDC) discovered malicious programming in their system and realized they needed a different vendor who was as serious about security as they were.

Solution

KDC turned to Dentrix Ascend – the only solution that met SOC 2 Type II compliance standards, a framework for securely storing and processing data. Integrated imaging for more seamless workflows

One of the practice’s first steps toward digital processes was a move to electronic charting and digital X-rays.

Re-care is up nearly 30%

Where scheduling used to create a large obstacle to quality care, patients can now use online scheduling to book appointments when it’s convenient for them. KDC’s re-care percentage for six months out used to be around 70%. Now they average between 90–98%.

They’re also streamlining their schedule with digital forms and communication, so patients spend less time waiting. “We don’t really need a big waiting room anymore,” said Dr. Paul. “We get them in and get them back quicker.”

Eliminating front-office bottlenecks

With Dentrix Ascend, KDC has eliminated the post-appointment bottleneck, sped up administrative processes, and created an efficient workflow centered around patient care.

“Efficiencies are greatly improved because we can do more. One assistant can do almost everything,” said Dr. Paul.

Custom, targeted reporting drives growth

With real-time reporting from Dentrix Ascend, KDC has been able to better manage their patient load and plan for the future.

Among other things, the reporting helped them realize they weren’t offering enough appointments to cover their thousands of patients. In addition to significantly increasing re-care, KDC’s percentage of collected patient contact information jumped to 98%, and treatment planning acceptance increased to 90%.
